I've loved taking photographs for as long as I can remember. Over the years my cameras have evolved. Film came and went. I embraced digital, loving the immediacy of racing home after a shoot to download and view what I'd taken. I love the buzz of capturing something magical and photography, for me, is like magic. It completely enthralls and absorbs me.
Based in Manchester, I'm regularly found dashing about town covering local events and indulging the documentary style photography I love. Street photography is an important part of documenting life and events and is something I am passionate about. Event photography in particular takes me into a completely different zone. The only way I can describe it is that something takes over in my head, a sense of urgency, yet a sense of timelessness.
Working outdoors, on location is the way I prefer to take photographs. Using some of the great backdrops around Manchester and natural light creates amazing images.
Influenced by Jane Bown, Henri Cartier-Bresson and trained by Brett Harkness, photography is one of my great pleasures and something that makes my soul sing.
